Southwark Spine (South) & Bellenden Gyratory

Packages 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 are now complete and a road safety audit has been undertaken for these sections of the route. The recommendations from the safety audit have also been implemented.

Package 4 – Bellenden Village

We previously engaged with residents and businesses about proposals for this section of the route and concerns were raised especially from businesses, about loss of short stay parking spaces. We've since revised our design, which we think should bring more visitors to the area and help make it an attractive environment to spend time in. 

The public consultation for this scheme is completed. Read the decision report and consultation summary. 

At the end of the consultation period, the responses will be summarised and a report will be prepared for the Cabinet Member to make a decision on whether the scheme should be implemented or not.

• Outline design stage – Completed
• Detailed design stage – March 2022 to December 2022
• Construction stage – February 2023 to April 2023
• Monitoring stage – May 2023 to October 2023
