Hampton Street and Steedman Street improvements
Disruptions
It is acknowledged that there will be significant disruptions during these works. There will need to be a mix of road closures, temporary traffic signals, one-way and two-way working. Access for deliveries and servicing will be maintained where possible; however in some cases alternative arrangements may need to be made, especially where larger vehicles are used.
There will also be reduced access for car parking, both on and off-street. Each vehicle entrance is expected to take between 5 and 10 days to construct, and during that time there will be no way for a vehicle to enter from or exit to Hampton Street or Steedman Street. Alternative arrangements will need to be made by each vehicle user. Accompanying letters will be sent as each phase nears the affected access.
Please review the Detailed Programme for more information as to when these disruptions will take place.
Diversions and traffic management
During the closures mentioned above, diversion routes will be implemented and signposted. In many cases, temporary traffic signals will be installed within the site boundaries to ensure that all road users and workers are kept safe.
Please review the Detailed Programme for more information as to when these closures and diversions will take place.
Parking
As outlined above there will be access restrictions in place for residents and businesses that utilise off-street parking facilities on Steedman Street and Hampton Street. During those times of disruption we are asking those affected to find alternative parking arrangements.
If you're a resident having difficulty finding alternative arrangements, contact us directly to apply for assistance.
Some on-street parking bays will also be suspended during certain phases, to provide passing space or to accommodate the temporary traffic signals or signs associated with the works. Resident permit holders for Zone ‘E’ will be able to park elsewhere within the parking zone.
Please review the Detailed Programme for more information as to when these disruptions will take place.
