AD parking permit
Southwark residents who are disabled Blue Badge holders can apply for an AD parking permit.
The AD parking permit is a virtual permit, which provides the same parking concessions as that of a Blue Badge. The AD permit was designed for Southwark residents as an alternative to displaying their Blue Badge and has been successful in preventing theft of Blue Badges displayed in vehicles on Southwark roads.
The AD permit also provides a concession to drive through some of the street space controls within Southwark.
Terms and conditions
- Blue Badge holders must have an email confirming the issue of an AD permit from Southwark Council before any concessions will be granted to vehicles where a Blue Badge is not on display
- only Southwark Blue Badge holders can apply for an AD permit
- an AD permit will last for one year and permit holders will be notified by email in advance to renew
- Blue Badge holders can apply for an AD permit for only one vehicle; either their own vehicle or the vehicle of their carer
- an AD permit is not valid in any privately owned car park within Southwark
- an AD permit is not valid outside the boundary of the London Borough of Southwark
How to apply
- create an account in our parking permit system
- provide your Blue Badge details:
- the car registration number
- a copy of the disabled badge
- we will confirm the issue of the AD permit by email
Permits are commonly issued within one working day, from the point at which all of the above information and correct documentation are presented. However, it may take up to five days if your address is outside a Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ).
