Report a tree issue

Report tree related damage to private property

If a council owned tree is causing damage to your property, you must first contact your home insurance company. They'll investigate the matter and collect structural damage evidence to support any potential claim.

 We'll require the following information:

  • a structural report with a formal description of the damages
  • positive tree root identification - necessary to identify the species and location of any trees involved
  • soil analysis
  • twelve months level monitoring - this shows the cyclical movement relating to the seasonal growth of vegetation as opposed to the effect of defective drainage or other causes

The evidence should be sent to CentralinsuranceServices@southwark.gov.uk.
