Health benefits of walking
If you walk at a moderate pace, walking is a great form of aerobic exercise, without the stress you put on your joints when jogging or running. Cardiovascular activity that increases your heart rate (like walking) is good for your heart and lungs, for improving muscle tone and reducing body fat.
Regular walking can reduce the risk of diseases such as cancer, diabetes and heart disease, and because walking increases bone density it can lower the risk of osteoporosis. Walking is also excellent for relieving stress, helping you sleep better and improving your mood.
