Free cycling lessons
Whatever your age or ability, we have free cycling training tailored for you, including:
- training for women and girls
- one to one or group training for 18 years of age and over
- we can offer family training on request
- bikeability programmes of cyclist training offered to all of our schools
- training for children and adults with disabilities
- training for older people
Joy Riders
Joy Riders is a cycling charity that provides free lessons for women and girls. They offer family learn to ride, women and girls sessions. Book your bike sessions.
Cycle Confident
Cycle Confident provides free cycle sessions in the borough. They do individual cycle training from complete beginners to experienced cyclists. They also offer family, children and group sessions. Sign up for a bike session.
School children
Bikeability cycling training is available to all school children in the borough. For more information talk to your school or email our Highways team at highways@southwark.gov.uk.
Cycling with a disability
Cycling can be easier than walking for some people. Wheels for Wellbeing run regular inclusive cycling sessions in South London for disabled children and adults to try cycling on their fleet of two, three and four wheeled cycles.
Older people
We also have cycling sessions for older people who want to learn how to get started. You can join SilverFit for a beginner’s cycling lesson or try track cycling for the more advanced.
