These accredited courses are suitable for anyone undertaking manual handling operations in the workplace, at home or in other settings.
Where do the courses take place
Courses take place at the Thomas Calton Centre, Alpha Street, SE15 4NX.
What you'll learn
- the reasons for safe manual handling
- how manual handling risk assessments contribute to improving health and safety
- the principles, types of equipment and testing requirements associated with safety in manual handling
- how to apply safe manual handling principles.
How is the course taught
The course is led by a specialist tutor and will include learning from Powerpoint presentations and group discussions. You will need to pass a short assessment at the end of the course to achieve the award.
Materials you'll need
Bring a notebook and pen or pencil.
