Digital skills starter workshop
Who is the course for
Suitable for people with little or no digital skills who want to build confidence and become computer literate.
Course location
Thomas Calton Centre, Alpha Street, SE15 4NX.
What you’ll learn
You will learn how to develop skills to:
- use a laptop
- use the internet
- stay safe and secure online
- use email
- use basic Microsoft Office apps
You will also have the opportunity to develop skills relating to the topics below:
- finding a job online
- using Office programs
- staying in touch with people online
How the course is taught
The course is taught using modelling and simulations through an online learning platform, as well as doing practical activities.
Materials you’ll need
You may want to bring a notebook to make some notes. Laptops will be provided in the classroom but you can bring your personal laptop if you prefer to learn using your own device.
After the course
You will be able to progress onto a more advanced Digital Skills course once you complete our introductory course. .
