Elmington regeneration

Revitalisation of the Benhill Nature Garden

The work to Benhill Road Nature Garden has been completed and is ready for the local community to enjoy. It was brought back as a community asset and forms part of the overall Elmington estate regeneration.

In 2015, the Conservation Volunteers were appointed to build and design the new garden using board residents aspirations. The garden has a variety of habitats, such as a wild flower meadow, outdoor learning zone, natural seating and play features, mini beast zone and a dipping platform.

The garden has retained many of the mature trees. The Pied Piper Mural, an artwork of merit by Willi Soukop, was restored by Stone Edge Conservation Ltd. It's located on the flank wall of Brunswick Park Primary school sports hall overlooking the nature garden.

The official launch of the new Benhill Road Nature Garden (PDF, 585kb) was held on Tuesday 16 June 2015.

The council may require volunteers to help maintain the garden. If you're interested in volunteering, register to become a friend of Benhill Road Nature Garden online.
