Canada Water Library

Recently named the busiest library in London, the multi-million pound 2,600+ sq.m library, designed by world renowned architects Pier Grough from CZWG architects, opened to the public in November 2011. The uniquely designed building provides a ‘civic hub’ at the heart of the regeneration area, within Canada Water.

The library holds over 40,000 books and currently offers monthly and weekly activities for adults, children, members of the community and visitors to the area, meeting/event space, state of the art culture space seating 150 people, as well as a café.

About the plaza

Canada Water Plaza is a unique space in a historic London docklands location part of a distinctive, new waterside town centre. It provides a open and welcoming entrance to the Canada Water Library. This paved space is used for a variety of events and activities, such as performances and as a street market throughout the summer (as it offers a multitude of set ups and access to power, water and lighting). It can be used in conjunction with the library and the culture space to provide an indoor element to your event.

The plaza is next to the Canada Water transport hub where the Jubilee Line meets the new London Overground and the bus station, giving direct access audiences in The City, West end, East end and Southeast London.
