Consultation on the December 2020 draft of the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan has now closed. The consultation commenced on 11 January 2021 and closed on 10 May 2021.
We also consulted on five new conservation areas in the Old Kent Road Opportunity Area, which closed on 10 May 2021. For more information and to comment on the proposals, visit the pages below:

Next Steps
We will now carefully consider and analyse all the feedback received. Once we have reviewed all representations, these will be made publically available with our responses.
We will then begin to make any required amendments to the plan. We will wait for the final report from the Inspector's on the New Southwark Plan and make any changes to the AAP which may be necessary to bring it in conformity with the NSP. This is likely to be in November 2021. The APP will then be published and consulted on as the proposed submission version. Following the proposed submission version consultation version consultation, we'll submit the plan to the Secretary of State for public examination.

The plan has been prepared, in response to the feedback received during the previous rounds of consultation, to ensure that all residents, business owners and other interested people have the opportunity to comment on the plan and the policies before the ‘proposed submission’ stage. How we've consulted so far
The council sought early engagement with local businesses, residents, community and special interest groups and wider stakeholders from 2013. Find out how we engaged with the local community during the early stages of AAP preparation.
The first ‘preferred option’ draft of the Old Kent Road Area Action Plan/Opportunity Area Planning Framework was prepared during 2015/16 and published for consultation in June 2016.
