Bakerloo Line Extension (BLE) safeguarding directions

On 1 March 2021, the Secretary of State for Transport issued safeguarding directions for the Bakerloo Line Extension (BLE).

Safeguarding is a formal process undertaken by the Department for Transport that ensures the land required for major projects is protected from conflicting future development.

The safeguarding directions relate to the extension proposed to be constructed to the Bakerloo Line to Lewisham via Old Kent Road and New Cross Gate.
