Comment on a planning application and view the Planning Register
What happens after you submit a comment
After you've submitted your comment online, there will be a delay of at least one working day before the comment is published on the Planning Register. The delay allows us to redact personal information and remove any derogatory or offensive content from the comment.
We will acknowledge comments sent to us in an email or letter, either by a return email or letter, within 5 working days. It can take up to 5 working days after we receive your email or letter for us to enter your comment into our system.
How do I check the status of the planning application that I commented about?
If you want to be notified when a planning application has been amended or when we have made a decision on the application, you will need to ‘track’ the application using your Planning Register account. You can read how to do this on the Guide on how to use the Planning Register page.
If you don’t choose to track the application, we will not normally contact you again unless the application:
- is to be decided by the planning committee or sub-committee, or
- is significantly altered or withdrawn
As we get many comments about planning applications we can't enter into individual correspondence or discussion with people who have commented.
