Conservation areas
Union Street
The Union Street Conservation Area lies half a kilometre south of the River Thames and is based on the streets around Union Street and Southwark Bridge Road, which run east-west and north-south through the area. The townscape of the Union Street Conservation Area is a mix of predominantly 19th century commercial, industrial warehousing, social housing and ecclesiastical developments. The buildings in the conservation area are in general utilitarian, modest in scale and detailing.
