Little Dorrit Park improvement project
We're seeking to make improvements to Little Dorrit Park, a small park located just off Borough High Street near London Bridge Station.
According to the bylaws, adults without children are prohibited (PDF, 272kb) from the play area at Little Dorrit Park. Dogs are also prohibited.
The play area is not fenced off from the rest of the park, leaving no space available for adults without children and people with dogs to use.
The proposal is to fence off the play area so that everyone can feel welcome in the park.
Play equipment will be improved, and trees will be planted to benefit wildlife and combat the urban heat island effect.
Should funding be sufficient, the project could also include other improvements to the park and the Peace Garden next to Little Dorritt Park.
Consultations
Two public consultations have been carried out. These were held in 2021 and 2022.
Email leisureprojects@southwark.gov.uk for a PDF or paper copy of either report.
View a summary of the results of the second consultation.
The views and ideas of those who responded have been considered, and have influenced the design options for the park.
Next steps
The project was put on hold in 2023 after the Project Manager left the council. Once we have a new Project Manager, the project can restart.
