Leyton Square improvements

We have funding available for Leyton Square Park in Peckham.

The park contains two buildings, one which is empty and one which is currently used for under 5’s day care. Unfortunately, due to their condition, we will eventually need to demolish these buildings.

The council has been working in partnership with the Friends of Leyton Square on the idea of replacing the two buildings with a single new building. This will be a purpose built, mixed-use community facility.

The project will explore the local community’s needs and investigate how much it will cost to construct a new Leyton Square Community Hub building.

Next steps

A consultation on the project will run from Thursday 8 August 2024 until Thursday 19 September 2024. We'd love to hear your views on our proposal for a Leyton Square Community Hub.

A Consultation Launch Event will be held in Leyton Square Park on Saturday 17 August 2024, 1pm to 4pm which will be held in partnership with Friends of Leyton Square. Come along for fun and games, face painting and refreshments.
