Faraday Gardens

The gardens adjoin St Peter’s Churchyard close to Walworth Road. Features include a multi-use games area, a children's playground and a conservation area which provides an important habitat for wildlife.

Nursery Row Park

 

East Street, Orb Street and Brandon Street, SE17

This park is located in Walworth, nestled between Brandon Street, Stead Street, Orb Street and the East Street Market. It includes approximately 1.76 hectares of public green space, 2 playground areas, a wildlife meadow and a community orchard. It's central to the community and forms part of the lungs of the area.

Kennington Open Space

Camberwell New Road, SE5

This small green space is located on John Ruskin Street and adjoins Kennington Park, which is managed by Lambeth Council. The park offers an outdoor gym.

Pasley Park

Chapter Road, SE17

Formerly known as Surrey Gardens and the site of the zoological garden in the 19th century, Pasley Park is well-used by local residents and boasts a play area and designated dog exercise areas. It was awarded a Green Flag in 2016 and has an active Friends group that organises the annual summer fair and dog show. The Walworth Garden is a close neighbour on Braganza Street.

Pelier Park

Pelier Street, SE17

Located on Fielding Street and just off Walworth Road, this small park has a multi-use games area and a children's playground and dog exercise area.

St Mary's Churchyard (Newington)

Newington Butts, SE17

Once a large churchyard, St Mary's Newington has been transformed under the Elephant and Castle regeneration scheme into an extremely popular and well-used park adjoining the Castle leisure centre. It consists of a children's playground and a central grass area surrounded by large London plane trees.

A new plaza area with seating, new planting and a water feature opened in 2017.

St Peter's Churchyard   

Liverpool Grove, SE17

This peaceful churchyard adjoins Faraday Gardens close to Walworth Road and includes a rose garden, mature trees and a community garden.

Surrey Square Park

 

 

Surrey Square, SE17

This park is located between the densely populated Kinglake and Aylesbury estates and Surrey Square and features a children's playground, a wildlife area (which has featured on BBC's Breathing Space programme), natural play equipment, community planting, wildflower meadow areas and the Peter Martin memorial garden. The Friends of Surrey Park work closely with us; the park has held a Green Flag since 2014. More information is available on the Friends of Surrey Square Park website.

Sutherland Square Garden

Sutherland Square, SE17

A small tranquil green space in the Square in a residential area just off Walworth Road.

Victory Community Park

Victory Place, SE17

Refurbished in 2007, this small park features a children's play area, a multi-use games zone designed for teens, a world border with unusual plants, a nature area (open by appointment) and a stunning mural, linked by a boardwalk. Community planting days and events are organised by the Friends and the local community and the park was awarded a Green Flag award  in 2016.
