Run the Virgin London Marathon 2021 on behalf of the Mayor of Southwark
7 June 2021
The Virgin London Marathon 2021 is back and for the first time will be an autumn marathon, so if this is your first time or maybe you are a veteran marathon runner you could be on the starting line representing the Mayor of Southwark, Councillor Barrie Hargrove and raising funds for his chosen, Southwark Day Centre for Asylum Seekers.
You'll start the iconic 26.2 miles in Greenwich Park accompanied by 40,000 other runners. Along the route, you'll run past the Cutty Sark, run around parts of the borough in Rotherhithe and crossing over the world famous Tower Bridge, pass through the skyscrapers of Canary Wharf, finishing along the world famous Mall for a joyous welcome in front of Buckingham Palace.
The London Marathon is fully inclusive and welcomes the use of standard day chairs/wheelchairs and race runners in the mass participation event. All participants must complete the event by the official cut-off time, which is 7pm. If you'd like to request a waiver of the cut-off time for medal purposes, you can submit a request directly to the London Marathon.
