Christmas comes early for council tenant with £1,000 prize

Charlotte Michelle Smith from Walworth was one of the council tenants who had major works carried out to their home this year. Southwark Council had over 2,300 responses to its satisfaction survey in the first half of 2016, asking tenants what they thought about the quality of works and service they got from the council and its contractors.
The results from 2015 showed 90 per cent of those who responded were satisfied with the service they had received and the council is hoping this figure will be even higher this year. Everyone who returns the survey is automatically entered into the prize draw, and two winners per year take the prize home.
Cllr Peter John, Leader of the Council, said: “Congratulations to Charlotte. We want to make sure our residents live in decent quality homes and we continue to invest millions into our major works programme to achieve this. We want to make sure both tenants and leaseholders are getting the best possible service from us and our contractors during the works. This is why we ask for feedback so we can continually improve our service.”
Charlotte said: “This is unreal, I never win anything. The prize came right in time for Christmas and I can’t wait to enjoy it with my family. Thanks Southwark.”
