Families and children with additional needs
Our children's books are in a range of formats:
- board books for babies
- touchy feely books
- large print
- high interest low reading level books (Barrington Stoke Books)
- graphic novels
Computers
All of our libraries offer free usage of computers. Every computer has Dolphin Supernova, which allows screen magnification and audio assistance for the visually impaired. There is also a 'large' mouse and 'large' keyboard to enable easy use of the computer for people with additional needs. You can ask a member of staff to assist you with any of these services.
Events for children and young people
We hold events for children and young people all year round. The programme of events include:
- Bag Books Storytelling Sessions for children with special needs
- Chatterbooks for ages 7 to 11
- Baby and toddler sessions
- Baby rhyme time sessions
- Bookstart sessions
- themed activities during all school holidays
Customer feedback
All of our libraries have customer feedback forms so you can communicate your thoughts about the service. We welcome your comments, as they help us continually improve our services.
If you're finding it difficult to access our services, email Elaine Walters, our Principal Young People's Librarian.
