Public Health training
Southwark is a vibrant inner London borough on the south bank of the Thames with modern offices, based a short walk from London Bridge station in central London. The Public Health division is staffed with almost 30 specialists and support staff. Find out more about the team.
One of our core values in the Public Health Division is to invest in our staff and create an environment that fosters a culture of learning and development. We also support a number of initiatives that support the development of the specialist workforce at Southwark Council and pride ourselves on being an excellent training location.
We provide training opportunities from entry level through to specialist training and:
- we initiated the Public Health Foundation Programme, aimed at new graduates with limited work experience who are considering a postgraduate degree or career in Public Health
- Southwark is a training location for postgraduate specialist training programmes in association with the Faculty of Public Health, Health Education England and NHS Management scheme
- we have strong links with academic organisations and are committed to contributing to Public Health evidence based through academic publishing and presenting at conferences
We've tried to cover all aspects of training and development on the following pages, but if you still have any questions contact the team at publichealth@southwark.gov.uk.
