How we are supporting pupils to remain in school
Our priority is for schools, colleges, childminders and nurseries to deliver face-to-face education and care to children and young people. Pupils who get a better education tend to lead healthier lives and do better in life. The government review and manage the risk of pupils being in school during COVID-19. The aim is to reduce the impact and disruption on children and young people's education.
Health data shows that most children and young people still have no symptoms or very mild illness only.
It is important for pupils to remain in school or college for their:
- educational progress
- wellbeing
- wider development
Schools and colleges continue to use protective measures that they have been using throughout the pandemic. Your child’s school or college can give you more information about the measures they have in place.
