Accessing healthcare during COVID-19

Routine immunisations

Routine pre-school immunisations are continuing throughout the COVID-19 outbreak

Please make sure your child does not miss or delay any of their routine pre-school immunisations. Immunisations are incredibly important in protecting your child and other vulnerable people from potentially life-threatening infections. Your GP should contact you, as usual, to arrange for your child’s routine pre-school immunisations. If they haven’t, please get in touch with your practice. Practices have put measures in place to ensure you can safely access the healthcare and support you need during COVID-19, which may mean you are asked to visit a different practice than usual.

It's really important for you to get in touch with your practice to arrange for your child’s pre-school immunisations and to contact your GP if you're worried about your child’s health.

Expectant mothers

It's very important that you receive your pertussis vaccine to protect your baby from potentially life-threatening infections. If you're at least 16 weeks into your pregnancy and have not yet heard from your GP surgery about your pertussis vaccine, please call your practice.
