Event planning: a few tips
Get the right permissions
There are many things you need to consider when planning an event such as hiring a venue, applying for the proper licences and making sure that you have all of the necessary health and safety precautions in place.
Can you get a discount?
Remember that some of the licenses and permissions you will need might cost money. Please make sure you understand how much they each cost to stop any unwanted surprises.
There will be a cost for you to hire a park or public space. You can find those specific fees and charges here but what is brilliant is that if you are a local community group or charity, you will automatically get a 50% discount. Plus, if you can demonstrate significant benefit to the local people and communities of Southwark, you might get a bigger discount.
Tell the world and make your event accessible to everyone
You will also need to make sure your event is accessible to everyone and consider how best to promote your event.
Find some money
Of course, before any of this can happen, you will probably need to find the money to pay for it all and apply for some funding.
How did it go?
Good events are worth shouting about so it is important to properly evaluate and document your event.
