While the direct support made available to date has been of help during the pandemic, we recognise that the recovery of Southwark’s world-leading cultural sector will need a long period of renewal and reinvention.
We recognise that recovery needs to be a priority theme in Southwark’s next Borough Plan and next Cultural Strategy for 2023 onwards. We understand that a healthy recovery needs to be inclusive of all communities and ages. It will also have to make a meaningful contribution to reducing the sector’s negative environmental impact.
We look forward to working with representatives of the cultural sector during the second half of 2022. Together we will shape our borough’s next cultural strategy and support Southwark’s creative future.
