Who can vote

You can vote in the European election if you are:

  • registered on the electoral roll
  • over 18 years of age or turning 18 by election day
  • a British citizen, an Irish or Commonwealth citizen or a European Union citizen
  • European citizens
  • European Union citizens who wish to vote in the European parliamentary elections in the UK and not their home country must complete a European Parliament voter registration form.

If you prefer to vote in your home country you do not need to complete a European parliament voter registration form.
