Change, Grow, Live Southwark (CGL)

Change, Grow, Live Southwark adult drug and alcohol treatment service is available to anyone living in Southwark over 18 who is seeking help with their substance use.

Change, Grow, Live Southwark Young People

Change, Grow, Live Southwark Young People provides a drug and alcohol service for young people aged 17 years and under and some younger adults aged up to 24 years, in Southwark. The service also provides specialist family support for children and adults affected by substances.

Southwark Recovery Support Service (RSS)

Southwark Recovery Support Service, provided by Janus Resonance Factor Limited, is a peer-led service that specialises in supporting members of the borough’s communities to access peer support for their drug and/or alcohol use.

The service is made up of people with lived experience who aim to help encourage and inspire the personal recovery journey of other people with drug and/or alcohol support needs.

  • would like support to access treatment
  • are in treatment and need support from a peer mentor
  • have lived experience of substance use and/or have been impacted by someone else’s substance use and want to be a peer mentor

Preventing and reducing drug-related death 

Naloxone is a lifesaving medication that is used to rapidly reverse or reduce the effects of opioid (including heroin) overdose. It can be given to any person who shows signs of an opioid overdose or where an overdose is suspected. Anyone can legally administer naloxone to another person alongside calling 999 and this will not cause harm if the person who is suspected of overdose if they have not used opioids.

Overdose awareness training and naloxone kits are accessible to all people using opioids in Southwark as well as their families and friends to reduce and prevent drug-related death.

Needle exchange services

Anyone in Southwark who injects drugs, including image and performance-enhancing drugs, can access free clean injecting equipment, confidential advice and support and sharps bins from community pharmacies that provide a needle exchange service.
