Food Hygiene Rating Scheme
Requesting a food hygiene rating revisit
A request may be made for a further visit to re-score the business and provide a new food hygiene rating. This request can be made at any time, but you have to pay a charge of £232 for the revisit.
There is no limit to the number of requests for a re-visit that you can make after each planned statutory inspection by the local authority and you can make the request at any time after the statutory inspection provided that you have made the required improvements. You must complete and submit the revisit request form providing details of the improvements made including any supporting evidence such as pictures where appropriate. The revisit will be unannounced and the inspecting officer will not only check that the required improvements have been made but will also assess the overall level of compliance. This means that the food hygiene risk rating could go up, down or remain the same.
You can complete your revisit request and make payment online.
Alternatively, you can download and complete a food hygiene rating revisit request form
