Citizenship ceremonies
To celebrate your final step toward becoming a British Citizen, you are required to attend a citizenship ceremony to swear an oath of allegiance to the Crown and make a pledge to uphold the values and laws of the UK.
Anyone aged over 18 who has been accepted to become a British citizen must attend a ceremony. Children are not required to attend but are more than welcome to.
Booking your ceremony
Once your application for British Citizenship is successful, you will receive an invitation letter or email from the Home Office inviting you to book your citizenship ceremony, email us at registrars@southwark.gov.uk with the following information:
- full name
- phone number
- your Home Office reference
You have three months to attend a citizenship ceremony.
Where the ceremony is held
All ceremonies take place at The Register Office, 34 Peckham Road, London, SE5 8QA.
What you should bring to the ceremony
- your original invitation letter or email from the Home Office
- your passport or photo ID
