Waste electricals

What happens to waste electricals

Itens that are brought to electrical recycling banks or the Reuse and Recycling Centre are checked and separated.

If an item is in good working order, it is tested and sent for reuse. If not, it is sent to a specialist reprocessing plant for recycling. The materials are then broken down, shredded and sent for refining to make new materials.

If you donate a working laptop, smartphone or tablet, Community TechAid will make sure it goes to someone in need.
