Avoid identity fraud

To protect yourself from identity fraud, don't throw away or recycle entire:

• bills
• receipts credit or debit card slips
• bank statements
• unwanted post in your name

Destroy unwanted documents, preferably by using a shredder or deleting your name before placing them out for recycling. 

If you're disposing of unwanted computing equipment, either at the Household Waste Reuse and Recycling Centre or via our bulky waste collection service, protect yourself by ensuring that all personal information has been thoroughly wiped from any storage devices (eg hard drives) within that equipment.
