Food waste collections
Find out about food waste collections, if your home is eligible, what you can put in your food waste and when your collection day is.
We collect food waste free of charge from street-level properties with space to store their own bin. Some flats are also included in the service, and we are now expanding the scheme to include all properties as this is required by government legislation.
What you can put in your food waste bin
You can use your food waste collection for:
- meat, fish and bones (cooked or raw)
- fruit and vegetables
- bread, rice and pasta
- eggs and dairy products
- tea bags and coffee grounds
- plate scrapings
