About me and my connection to Southwark
I create and perform music and poetry, often in combination.
I'm a professional musician working mostly in jazz and Latin music, playing trombone in various formats, ranging from solo improvised music to jazz orchestras. I also compose and arrange music and often present bands onstage.
As a poet, I have been performing with a solo project, Trombone Poetry, in a wide range of settings, from experimental cabaret to literary festivals and jazz clubs.
I have published three books of poetry with Redriff Press and will be publishing several more in the near future. These collections often use original verse forms and cover a range of themes, including music, art, philosophy, technology, urbanism, travel and many others.
I have been a member of several local arts networks over the years, including Southwark Arts Forum, NEON and Creative Network Southwark, as well as the Musicians' Union.
Southwark has been my home for decades, mainly in co-operative/social housing.
