About me and my connection to Southwark

OYOKO is a versatile artist, encompassing disciplines of dance, creation, music, and entrepreneurship. She has graced renowned stages including KarmaKlubb Oslo, Golden Jar Bergen, Tate Britain, and the Institute of Contemporary Arts. Notably, she was a commissioned artist for Southwark Council's I Create Artists Grant 2022, collaborating with the Philharmonia Orchestra and several artists and multi-instrumentalists to present a fusion of West-African percussive and Classical compositions.

OYOKO's musical ventures are a fusion of experimental, avant-garde, and West-African influences, creating a unique auditory experience. Under the name DJ MUSTBETRUE, she has been an active workshop facilitator for aspiring DJs and has shared her favourite sounds on various broadcasting platforms and live events since 2018.

Beyond her artistic endeavours, OYOKO's commitment to equity and wellbeing is evident in founding STUDIO 27°, a creative hub that empowers artists and drives solutions for racial and gender equity within the creative and tech industries.
