Visitor's parking permits
You can buy visitor's parking permits if you live within a controlled parking zone (whether you own a car or not).
Virtual parking permits
You can now buy electronic visitor's parking permits, also known as virtual permits. As you cannot display virtual permits in your vehicle, Civil Enforcement Officers carry out checks using the vehicle registration mark.
If you want to buy virtual visitor's permits, log into your parking account.
If you don't have a parking account, you can register and apply.
Using your virtual visitor's permit
Once you've purchased your virtual visitor's permits, you'll receive an email instructing you to log in to your account. You can pre-book permits in advance - as long as you know the arrival date and time and your visitor's car registration mark.

Each paper permit is valid for one vehicle and for one date only. You'll need to scratch the day, date, and month off the permit when you plan to use it. You must also write the vehicle registration number (in ink) on the permit.
You must ensure the permit is clearly displayed and easily seen from the footpath (you'll find instructions on the reverse of the permit.)
You only need a visitor's permit if you're parking within a controlled parking zone during the hours when restrictions are in force - check the parking signs for times and days.
We cannot replace booklets that go astray in the post.
