New website for young people in Southwark goes live

Southwark Council is excited to announce a brand-new website designed to meet the needs of the borough's young people.
Young people told the council they wanted to access support and information from one place. The council developed the new website with this in mind. The website directs young people to any of the services and help they might need, along with things to do and see.
Cllr Jasmine Ali, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Children, Young People & Education, said: “Across Southwark, there is so much on offer for young people. From council grants and careers support, to events and youth services like our mental health hub on Rye Lane. Pulling this all together in one place will make it simpler for young people to see what's out there for them in Southwark.
"The new website also makes it easier for young people to have their say on council projects. For young people who want to make a difference in the borough, there's information on how they can get involved in things like our Youth Parliament and Young Advisors."
Through the website, young people can:
- search 'things to do' by type, location and age
- find specialist support (e.g. bullying, sexual health, drugs and alcohol)
- access jobs and training
- apply for grants and bursaries
- have their say on council projects
- find youth services and the support they offer
- locate youth centres in Southwark
- learn about how young people are making a difference in Southwark (e.g. Southwark Youth Parliament, Southwark Young Advisors)
