Old Kent Road regeneration website launched
9 November 2018
All the information around the future of the Old Kent Road opportunity area can now be found in one place as Southwark Council launches a new website dedicated to the project.
From the latest planning applications and dates for consultation events, to stories from the people who live in the area, the website at www.oldkentroad.org.uk will aim to keep local residents and businesses informed about all the latest news and changes going on around them.
The site also includes information about the ongoing Back the Bakerloo campaign to highlight the importance of the extension of the Bakerloo Line down Old Kent Road to the regeneration, and will eventually develop to highlight the events, activities and opportunities that will be coming to Old Kent Road as it becomes a thriving destination for visitors from the rest of London, and beyond.
Cllr Johnson Situ, Cabinet Member for Growth, Development and Planning, said: “As a council we are committed to ensuring that any changes to our neighbourhoods work for everyone. There is a lot of change taking place along the Old Kent Road already and there will be more coming forward over the next few years.
“It is very important to the council that people feel informed and able to have their say on what is happening in their communities and the website will hopefully make it easier for local people to get all the information in an open and easy to access way, and that they can see when and how they can feedback to us with thoughts and concerns.”
