Fun and games in Elephant this summer
9 August 2018
The Castle Leisure Centre’s new Holiday Activity Camp is adding to Southwark Council’s fun packed offer of sports, crafts and games for children in the borough this summer.
Cllr Rebecca Lury visited a session this week and met some of the children, who were playing a Peter Pan themed running game.
The Fit for Sport programme offers a vast range of activities and focuses on the importance of children being able to have fun outdoors. Children in Southwark can chose from multi-sports to messy arts and crafts, from outdoor adventures to weekly themed activities, each day offers something completely unique, but equally exciting for children aged five to 12 years old.
Cllr Rebecca Lury said: “It was lovely to meet the children and learn about the fun they’ve been having. It is so important that children can be supported and helped to grow into happy, confident young people and be encouraged to lead healthy and active lives, this programme holds these values at its core.”
