Home Improvement Agency

Our Home Improvement Agency can arrange and oversee adaptations for:

owner occupiers
housing association tenants
private tenants.

A financial counsellor from the team will help you decide how you will pay for the work. This could include:

a Disabled Facilities Grant (DFG)
benefits from the Department for Work and Pensions
a loan or mortgage
self-funding

If you wish to use this service, you must first have an assessment by our Occupational therapy service. A Southwark council surveyor and contractor will then visit your home. They will draw up a specification based on the assessment and get a price for the works. Once any funding has been agreed, the surveyor will supervise the work whilst it is in progress.

All contractors will have been checked and approved to carry out works.
