Flood resilience equipment
Southwark Council does not provide Property Flood Resilience (PFR) equipment such as sandbags. You may opt to get your own equipment for your property.
You can never eliminate the risk of flooding entirely, but you can reduce the risk of water getting in to your home or business and reduce its impact if it does get in. The techniques come under many different names, including Property Level Resilience (PLR), Property Flood Resilience (PFR) and Property Level Protection (PLP).
What is Property Flood Resilience?
Property Flood Resilience is designed to reduce the impacts of flooding against your property.
Measures include, but are not limited to:
- devices to prevent water from entering the property
- flood gates on doors and windows
- non-return valves on toilets or other waste systems
- self-closing air bricks
(Southwark Council does not provide these)
Advice on using Property Flood Resilience
