Domestic abuse support training for GPs (IRIS)

If you're a GP in Southwark, find out how to get training to support people going through domestic abuse.

IRIS (Identification and Referral to Improve Safety) is a domestic abuse training support and referral programme for GP surgeries.

What domestic abuse training covers

Core areas of the programme are:

  • training and education
  • clinical enquiry
  • care pathways
  • an enhanced referral pathway to specialist domestic violence services

IRIS is aimed at people who are experiencing domestic abuse from a current partner, ex-partner or adult family member. IRIS also provides information and signposting for male and for perpetrators.
