Child abuse
Reporting child abuse
Together, we can tackle child abuse
We're backing a Department for Education (DfE) campaign that we've launched to help raise awareness of and encourage members of the public to report suspected child abuse and neglect.
As adults, we all have a role to play in protecting children and young people from harm. All children have a right to be safe and protected from abuse and neglect. There are no excuses, no exceptions - abuse and neglect is wrong.
If you’re worried about a child or if you suspect child abuse, use the contact details below:
- phone our children's services duty social worker on 020 7525 1921
- if it's an emergency, after 5pm and at weekends or on bank holidays, contact the out of hours social worker on 020 7525 5000
You don't have to be absolutely certain about your suspicions. If you have a feeling that something’s not right, talk to our children’s social care team who can look into it. Information is usually gathered from many sources and your report would form one part of a bigger picture.
When you report to children’s social care you'll be asked for your details. If you’d prefer your details were kept private, you can discuss this with us.
